Game Night was performed as the first play on the Thursday night of Thestival 2016.
Game Night is an origional play which debuted at Thestival 2016 written by two of our very own members Joseph Bryan and Toby Steers. It follows the story of three friends, Jake, Amy and Ned, all of which deal with different struggles of student life and the social issues it provides. Rob, a friend of three who is finishing his final year of university, feels very protective towards them, especially when it comes to fending off the advances of Stan, his arch nemesis along with his gang of miscreants. In an attempt to distract his friends from their problems for a while, Rob invites them to play Dungeon & Dragons as a form of escapism. Whilst origionally sceptical towards the game due to its reputation for "social suicide" Jake, Amy and Ned agree to play and before long find themselves caught up in a chaotic adventure full of swashbuckling action, pesky goblins and damsels in distress.
It's nerd vs nerd in this ridiculous yet heart-warming quest whch teaches us that it's okay to be yourself, but it's better to be an ass-kicking hero who saves the princess and gets his dissertation done in time.

"Hilarious and brilliant play. Couldn't stop laughing througout. So well written and directed. Best improvisation i've ever seen. Can not wait to see the sequel, Game On!" - Rachael Brittain
"An original, fun and magical play written by two very talented members. The show was stolen particularly by Max Marriott (Stan) who had the room baiting for breath from their belly laughs! The cast were all faultless, however- casting at its very best" - Meg Clark
