Thestival 2017 saw a return to plenty of original content with complete original writing finding its way into the show in 'Leaving' & '27 Million' and even some original scenes which glued together the dark and broody Drama Section. On top of that we saw a hilarious 'Socks, Mugs & Sausage Rolls' Comedy section and an enormous Musical Section celebrating the ages accompanied by a hilarious one act musical 'Textmergency' based on the hit series 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'.
Held together by the fantastic triple act of producer's in Becky Cleary, Christie Ivens & Lucy Smith Jones, Thestival once again made its stamp as a sell out show making a huge audience laugh cry and sing along in what was our biggest ever cast as a society.

Dark and controversial, 27 Million told the story of Hope who is abducted and sold into the sex trafficking industry, capturing her arch as she loses faith in escape.

Taking a step away from tradition, The Drama Section this year took a turn in to the dark and uncanny dealing with inner monologues and deep fears venturing into health, violence and the paranormal.
M U S I C A L S E C T I O N
Musical Section this year took the form of Musicals through the ages, spanning decades and celebrating the history of broadway and all of the fantastic numbers that encapsulate it

Leaving is an original one act play emotionally portraying the depression and homesick that comes with university teaching us about farewells in adolescence and moving onto adulthood.

Based on one of the highest rated episodes of 'Crazy Ex Girlfriend' Textmergency tells the story of a girl who sends an awkward text to the wrong person and goes to great lengths to try and make sure it doesn't get read.

Socks, Mugs, Rock & Rolls. A hilarious spin on the the topic of sex, drugs & rock and roll showcased some hilarious takes on shows such as Mitchell & Webb look before ending with a bang of the fantastic Tenacious D's Tribute.
